For the 2nd link, I used an HD camcorder, but alas!, no amazing detached prominences as with the first, but detail in the smaller prominences is much better, with even "hedgerow" prominences seen.Since video avoids shutter vibration, I'll use my GH-2 in FHD video mode directly coupled to the Rubinar for the upcoming annular eclipse of 5/20, which I plan to view in northern California near the Klamath River mouth. As there will be no totality, no prominences will be seen unless with a dedicated H-alpha band solar scope.
