The compact size, the same as the smallest iPad Air model, is easy to throw in any back. Plus, it's a 2-in-1 style laptop. The kickstand and detachable keyboard allows you to use it as a tablet. It's compatible with USI 2.0 styluses, but unfortunately, it doesn't come with a pen. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD. Like other tablets, it includes two cameras, a front-facing camera of 5MP and a back-facing camera of 8MP.It costs $349 and will be available in October 2024.Samsung Galaxy Chromebook PlusCredit: SamsungThis launch also debuts Samsung's first Chromebook Plus. Like the Lenovo, it emphasizes portability, measuring 11.8 mm in thickness and weighing just 2.58 pounds despite its 15.6-inch screen. It has 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD as well as an Intel Core 3 100U processor. Outfit with all of the new Gemini features announced at this launch, it's a promising debut in the Chromebook line-up.While we haven't gotten our hands on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus, it's hard not to compare it to the Apple MacBook Air 15-inch model, which starts with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD, just like Samsung's Chromebook Plus. However, Samsung's is even lighter, measuring about .8 pounds less and 4mm slimmer. Despite their similar stature, that says nothing of how the two compare in processing — something we'll just have to measure ourselves. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook will be available in October 2024 and costs $699 — $600 less than the MacBook Air (M3) 15-inch laptop.New Chromebook Plus featuresThe new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus highlights the latest features Google is unveiling, however, all Chromebook Plus models will eventually see the latest updates. Here's are the new features to expect:Quick Insert key: Now included on keyboards, you'll find the Quick Insert Key, which launches a menu of shortcuts like Help me write, emojis and GIFs, recently visited links, and Google Drive integrations. The Quick Insert key is coming to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus to start, but will Upright and it’s a mobile workstation. The Samsung Chromebook Pro is like a Swiss Army knife, capable of filling a variety of roles throughout your day. It’s still a little expensive for a Chromebook, but it’s well under what you’d pay for a comparable Windows 10 notebook - and it’s certainly cheaper than its relatively comparable Google counterpart, the Pixelbook. Plus, Samsung now offers a version with a backlit keyboard, a feature missing from the initial launch of the laptop.Acer Chromebook 15Who’s it for: Anyone who needs a full 15 inches of screen real estate on a budget. How much will it cost: $200 to start, up to $400Why Acer Chromebook 15:The Acer Chromebook 15 is one of the only Chromebooks with a 15-inch display, making it a bit of a rarity. With a size and form factor closer to a 15-inch premium laptop than a budget-oriented netbook, the Acer Chromebook 15 delivers the same screen real estate as much higher-priced competitors.Rather than feeling cramped when you have two windows side-by-side on one of the more svelte Chromebook offerings, the Acer Chromebook 15 is just big enough to allow you all the room you need to multitask. On top of that, the late-2017 model features a dual-core Intel Pentium N4200, which features increased multi-core performance to power multitasking without feeling any serious system lag.The size of this laptop also gives you room to stretch out. Smaller Chromebooks are more portable, but they also can feel cramped, particularly if you’re a large person

Point ($250, compared to the previous Series 5 Chromebooks' $450).[33] It was the first Chromebook to use an ARM processor, one from Samsung's Exynos line. To reduce the price, Google and Samsung also reduced the memory and screen resolution of the device. An advantage of using the ARM processor, however, was that the Chromebook did not require a fan. Acer followed quickly after with the C7 Chromebook, priced even lower ($199), but containing an Intel Celeron processor.[34] One notable way Acer reduced the cost of the C7 was to use a laptop hard disk rather than a solid-state drive. In April 2012, Google made the first update to ChromeOS's user interface since the operating system had launched, introducing a hardware-accelerated window manager called "Aura" along with a conventional taskbar. The additions marked a departure from the operating system's original concept of a single browser with tabs and gave ChromeOS the look and feel of a more conventional desktop operating system. "In a way, this almost feels as if Google is admitting defeat here", wrote Frederic Lardinois on TechCrunch. He argued that Google had traded its original version of simplicity for greater functionality. "That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, and may just help ChromeOS gain more mainstream acceptance as new users will surely find it to be a more familiar experience."[35] Lenovo and HP followed Samsung and Acer in manufacturing Chromebooks in early 2013 with their own models.[36] Lenovo specifically targeted their Chromebook at students, headlining their press release with "Lenovo

Before buying, check if the apps you rely on are available. For example, specific professional or niche applications may not work without a workaround.Operating System: Chromebooks run on ChromeOS, which differs from Windows or MacOS. Programs made for other systems won’t work directly. Popular apps like Photoshop or some business tools require alternatives to function.Hardware: While ChromeOS is lightweight and doesn’t need high-end hardware, it’s still a good idea to buy a model with the best specifications you can afford. Since Chromebooks don’t support upgrades later, storage, RAM, and processor power are essential.Security: One of the best features of Chromebooks is their built-in security. They are highly resistant to viruses and malware, so you don’t need to install additional antivirus software.Auto-Update Expiration (AUE): Google supports updates for 8 to 10 years on each Chromebook model. Check the updated expiration date of the device before purchasing to ensure you get a longer lifespan.Taking time to understand these points will help you make the right choice.Our. Has anyone had any problem using Samsung Galaxy Book Smart Switch to transfer data and apps from a Samsung Notebook9 Pro Laptop to the Book5 Pro? My new Book5 keeps trying to "send" data to the old computer instead of receiving. Tech support couldn't figure it out and said it's a chromebook compatibility issue. But the Samsung Notebook9 runs on Windows. I thought Chromebooks used Google or android. I know I can move files over but I'm more concerned about apps that I no longer know where to find the activation key if I have to reinstall them.Any ideas on why the issue is happening? I've searched the web and can't find any info on why the new computer isn't seeing the data on the old computer when using Galaxy Book Smart Switch? Both computers are using Windows 11 and on the same wifi. Tried connecting with usb cable but nothing happened.
