2025-04-08Oct 6, 2005 9:02 AM in response to Serac Hello Serac, Welcome to Apple Discussions. For some users, deleting the "com.apple.ichat.plist" file corrects the problem. Others find that they do NOT get the Bonjour invitation if they launch iChat from any location OTHER than the menu bar after you restart your Mac. See the Disabling Bonjour Messaging Window Popup Discussions thread for other suggestions and the experiences of other users who share your problem. EZ Jim Oct 6, 2005 10:38 AM in response to Serac You're welcome, Serac. Please let us know what fix works for you. Oct 6, 2005 10:49 AM in response to EZ Jim No it doesn't work unfortunately, I deleted the "com.apple.ichat.plist" and it still didn't work, I notice if I make my status available in the menu bar and then highlight buddy list it doesn't happen, and it only happpens at the one time or everytime I resart the computer. Oct 6, 2005 11:18 AM in response to Serac I deleted the "com.apple.ichat.plist" and it still didn't work, ... Did you Log out and stop iChat from running (no small black triangle adjacent to the iChat iCon in your Dock) BEFORE you deleted the .plist? Did you then restart and check to see whether iChat works? Did you try launching iChat from the Dock (if you keep iChat's iCon in your Dock) or from the icon in the Finder > Go > Applications folder? ... it only happpens at the one time or everytime I resart the computer. Are you sure you are logged out of all connections and that iChat is not running (no small black triangle adjacent to the iChat iCon in your Dock) ? Perhaps you have only closed all iChat windows? If that is the case, you may find some useful information on iChat actions and terminology in iChat status after quit?
